Liminal Spaces: A Digital Play Trilogy

Three Canadian plays were digitally presented during the Covid lockdown in collaboration with MXL Media and Nowadays Theatre.

Cooking for Grief

After a successful digital stage reading, Cooking for Grief, a semi-autobiographical play by Breanna Maloney, premiered at the Vancouver Fringe Festival. 

Winter of '88

An award-winning autobiographical play by playwright and director Mohammad Yaghoubi, based on his traumatic experiences during the Iran-Iraq war. Presented at The 2020 Next Stage Festival.

Swim Team

Premiering for the first time in English, Swim Team draws inspiration from real stories in women's sports and post-revolutionary Iran. In partnership with Nowadays Theatre, the play sold out its limited run and was featured on CBC's Here and now with Gill Deacon. 

Drink of Choice

Winner of the Toronto Fringe Festival's Patron's Pick, Drink of Choice explores asexuality through pick-your-own adventure solo show. Created by Hools Kay.

Non Gratas

Featuring Canadian Comedy Award winner Patricia Taborda and Social Media Influencer Mariela Pabón Navedo (@checkinmela), Non Gratas is a performance duo that combines music and comedic melodrama to explore the experience of being latinx immigrants in North America.

Recipient of the University of Toronto’s  Drama Alumni Show Project, ASMRtist (based on ASMR) combines performance, sound, and video to explore the theatre as a space for sensory transformation. Featured on CBC's Here and now with Gill Deacon.

Birthday Cake

Listed among Mooney on Theatre's “Most anticipated shows of Fringe 2016”, Birthday Cake performed to sold out audiences at Theatre Passe Muraille's Backspace.
